Biography

Akgün ÖLMEZ, MD, was born in 1973 in Adana. She graduated from Adana Anatolian High School in 1991 and Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (English) in 1997.

She started her residency programme at Department of Pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Ihsan Doğramacı Children’s hospital and became a pediatrician in 2002.

Between 2003 and 2006, she had her Pediatric Neurology Fellowship training in Department of Pediatric Neurology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.

She received her Associate Professor degree in 2009.

She worked as Asisstant Professor and Associate Professor at Gaziantep University Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology for three years.

Between 2010 and 2012, she worked at Denizli State Hospital.

In September 2012 she began to work in her private Office in Denizli.

Akgün ÖLMEZ, MD, has been granted from DAAD in 2004 and worked in the field of genetics of hereditary spastic paraplegias in Germany.

She has been a member of Turkish National Society of Pediatrics; Turkish society of Child Neurology, and Turkish Medical Association.

She has been married and has a son.
